Europa (Ro) Grace (they/them) is a mixed-race Black Trinidadian, Queer, Trans non-binary multi-disciplinary artist, and educator based in Oakland, CA (Huichin, Chochenyo Ohlone Land). As a Yoga Teacher Trainer and Cultural Competency Consultant, Europa stretches across the intersection of spiritual, somatic and social worlds. Currently leading 200hr Teacher Trainings, Trauma Informed Teacher Training and the 300hr Philosophy Module at Folk SF.

Their educational and creative work explores the healing potential of re-associating the dissociated and displaced body-mind. Europa’s performance work (cello and voice) has been featured at BAMPFA, Joe Goode Annex, African American Arts and Culture Center, and EastSide Arts Alliance.

At Kripalu Institute for Yoga and Health, Europa began training from senior teachers, Jovinna Chan and Sudha Carolyn Lundeen in 2012. They completed 500+ hours of Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu in 2014. Europa worked in the School of Yoga at Kripalu from 2014-2016 as an intern and then Program Coordinator of the 200hour Teacher Training Program. While in their year-long internship, they dedicated themself to in-depth asana and pranayama practice and created curriculum to address the socio-political dissonance they experienced and witnessed within the yoga and wellness world. This curriculum first taught at Kripalu in 2015 would be the foundation for Grasp at the Root: Uprooting white supremacy from Spaces of Healing and the Intersectional Yoga Teaching Module as a part of the Trauma Informed Training at Yoga Garden SF.

Committed to accessibility within the arts, Europa works as an audio describer for blind and visually impaired communities, describing the visual elements of performance, dance, visual art, and events.
